Final Call
Less than 24hrs after Hybrid Air Vehicles launched the second phase of test-flying of its Airlander 10, the world’s longest aircraft, broke free from its moorings and crashed at its Cardington, Bedfordshire base. During the November 18 incident, which saw its safety system triggered, leading to the aircraft’s deflation within the airfield boundaries, two people, both members of staff, suffered minor injuries, one being taken to hospital as a precaution. The Air Accident Investigation Branch is investigating the cause.
