In all my years as an EE customer I’ve never come across a ‘rewards points’ scheme, so I was sceptical of a text message that told me my points were expiring. I had to tap a link to ‘redeem’ them within a time period, which is a scam tactic as old as time. I double-checked online and EE actually has a page warning about the scam (www.snipca.com/58565). It says it will never “let you know about points via text message or email” nor use “time pressure” to nudge users into claiming points. EE customers can report scams by forwarding them to 7726.
