You’d struggle to imagine a game like Pentiment getting a prime slot at a Microsoft summer showcase as recently as five years ago; it says much for the shift in perception of the Xbox brand that we barely batted an eyelid at its presence here. We did, however, shift forward in our seats at what looked like a fascinating indie game, rendered in an art style inspired by postmediaeval manuscripts and woodcuts – our eyebrows lifting when the trailer revealed that this was developed by Obsidian.
