L ast year’s announcement didn’t tell us a huge amount about Redfall, beyond it being a new game from Arkane Studios. Reason enough to be excited, at least for a certain kind of player, but it did leave a few misconceptions to be cleared up. First and foremost that, despite being a fourplayer co-op shooter with a horde of supernatural foes to be chewed through before they can chew on you, this isn’t the Left 4 Dead-like many of us had it mentally filed as. (Having dominated last summer’s showings, incidentally, that trend seems to have receded significantly since.)
