Members of the boating community are being encouraged to have a say on the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s new Code of Practice for pleasure vessels. The public consultation runs until Wednesday September 26. The Code of Practice for Intended Pleasure Vessels and its supporting guidance notices, which will be introduced on January 1 2019, addresses temporary commercial use either for business purposes or as a race support boat. The MCA is urging the boating community to read the proposals on how it plans to make the water a safer place while giving the opportunity to legitimately operate commercially on a temporary basis. To contribute, or if you want a hard copy of the consultation, email PleasureVessels@mcga.gov.uk.
