CONSTRUCTION of the new station at Cameron Bridge on the Levenmouth line has commenced.
The station will be the terminus and one of two new stations on the £116 million Scottish Government-funded rebuilding project of a line that closed to passengers in 1969.
Initial construction work on the new station will commence with the foundations for the 196m-long platforms, achieved by using more than 100 precast units and approximately 200 cubic metres of concrete.
In late 2022, the platforms of the old Cameron Bridge station were demolished and the spoil moved to the site of the new station about 200m to the east.
