To many people there might not appear to be an obvious link between the writing of Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and the dating problems of Muslim women. But one writer who saw a connection is Ayisha Malik, debut author of Sofia Khan is not Obliged, (published by Twenty7 in January this year).
The theme of the book is about a London-based hijabi (a woman who wears the Islamic head-covering or scarf ), who’s sworn off dating men… then is asked by her boss to write a Muslim dating book.
