London’s Nancy Andersen and Jaime Travis were friends long before founding Babeheaven and their chemistry shows. Travis’s lush production provides a perfect backdrop for Andersen’s soft, soulful vocals, which at times recall Dido’s, not least on Human Nature’s late 90s downtempo. Morcheeba might also appreciate Jalisco, but something about Craziest Things recalls early Saint Etienne, while Friday Skies turns to Cocteau Twins guitars for added sparkle, and Through The Night masterfully combines Massive Attack and Radiohead.
