Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 Laptop
To have and to fold
LAPTOP | £799 from Dell www.snipca.com/55644
If you want a small, versatile laptop, we don’t think there’s much to beat this Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 for the price at the moment. It improves on our previous favourite – the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (£969 from www.snipca.com/55245, reviewed in Issue 683) – in a number of ways. Not least, the price. At the time of writing it was being discounted to £799, though if you find the price has gone back up to its RRP of £999, we’d still recommend it.

The ‘2-in-1’ element stems from the flexibility of the device’s 360-degree hinge. The touchscreen opens and closes like a normal laptop, but if you keep pushing it back it will flatten out, then continue all the way around back on itself, effectively becoming a Windows tablet. The hinge is strong enough to hold firm at any point so you can work on it at any angle.
