Why doesn’t Google Maps show 3D buildings?
Q It occurred to me recently that Google Maps no longer shows buildings in three dimensions on my PC. In the past I could hold down the Shift key, then click and drag with my mouse to orient the display and tilt it at an angle for an impressive 3D view. I discovered this feature by accident once by resting a pen against my keyboard while moving the mouse in Maps. It didn’t work for every location, but my city was among those that did, and now it’s gone. I upgraded my laptop a few weeks ago but it’s much better than the old model, so I can’t imagine it’s a performance problem. Has Google removed this feature? If so, why?
