Acer Aspire 14 AI 2025
LAPTOP ❘ £599 from Currys www.snipca.com/56363
Steals the show
Let’s be honest, the ‘AI’ in this latest Acer Aspire laptop’s name is fairly superfluous. You’d be hard pushed to find a modern laptop that doesn’t mention AI in its marketing materials. It’s mostly hype, because the majority of AI tasks require massive amounts of processing power. ChatGPT, Gemini and similar large language models, although appearing relatively simple on the surface, have complex processing requirements.
What Acer has crammed into this laptop is a miracle and at £599 it’s an absolute steal
And yet there’s a lot to admire about the Aspire 14 AI, not least its price. At £599 it’s an absolute steal. What Acer has managed to cram into this thing for the price is nothing short of a miracle. It’s not likely to compete with a £1,000 laptop from Microsoft, Dell or Asus, but that’s not its purpose. Build quality is not the best we’ve seen, the keyboard is adequate and the screen could be brighter, but the key elements – general performance, battery life and ease of use – are all in place, and it all starts with that processor.
