The Tapo H500 is a tricky product to review. Not because it’s a niche device or performs poorly, but because it sits in so many categories at once that it’s hard to know what to compare it with. It provides network-attached storage for your smart cameras and doorbells. It’s also a microphone and home intercom that you can use to speak with others around your house. It acts as a dock for your tablets (pictured below) that lets you set up and configure smart home devices and applications. And it’s a central hub to connect and control all your devices. But perhaps most importantly, it’s pretty expensive for what it is.
