Why can’t I cancel an order before despatch?
Q I bought a router online on Friday afternoon but then remembered I was going away for a week and so wouldn’t be in to receive it. However, when I cancelled the order on Saturday morning the retailer said it had already sent the router and I couldn’t cancel. Instead, it said I’d have to refuse delivery. I said I wouldn’t be able to do this because I’d be abroad. What a mess! Doesn’t the law force retailers to give you longer to cancel an order before despatching it?
