It has been, it would be fair to say, a cracking summer so far. True, we have had a little precipitation in recent days but it would be churlish to complain given the extended warm, dry spell we have enjoyed.
As this week’s paper proves manifestly, it has been a godsend and just reward for all the hard-working, sel ess volunteers who toil so willingly to bring about the plethora of major events that are real highlights in the calendar.
We have extensive reports and photo specials this week from the Highland games held on Mull, Taynuilt and Inveraray, as well as agricultural shows in Tiree and Lismore.
