Climbers are objecting to a planned hydro scheme in Glen Etive, fearing it will make a mountaineering hut they have run for 60 years uninhabitable.Dundee-based Grampian Club, which owns the bothy and has 230 members, has hired out the former roadmen’s hut called Inbhir aolain since 1961 bothy sleeps up to 13 hill walkers each night, allowing them to enjoy ‘the peace, quiet and adventure’ of Glen Etive.
Over the last seven years it has been occupied for 4,500 bed nights.sole water supply is from the nearby Allt Fhaolain burn, which occupants collect using containers and a trolley.
