Operators of salmon farms have welcomed the report.
The Lochaber Fisheries Trust has hailed the findings of a recent Scottish Government report into the impact of salmon farming as ‘a huge step forward’ for aquaculture regulation and the protection of wild fish.
Following its in-depth inquiry into salmon farming in Scotland, the Scottish Parliament’s Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee (REC) report on salmon farming outlined 65 recommendations for the industry on issues such as sea lice control and fish mortality rates.
