Bishop Brian McGee, Argyll and the Isles diocese Oban.
Argyll and the Isles Diocese, which has existed since 1878, is under threat of running out of money and assets in nine years if the diocese’s current deficit of nearly £90,000 a year is not reduced.
The diocese needs an extra £88,000 per annum to break even. But in an article in the Scottish Catholic Observer, the Bishop of Argyll and the Isles has told parishioners he is confident the deficit can be wiped out by support from parishes.
