The best kit to pass through our labs this month
Lowepro PhotoSport X
From £261/$300
Built for the demands of adventure photographers

Versatile storage: PhotoSport X is available in 35- and 45-litre sizes, and up to 86% of its materials are recycled.
GearUp (not included): Use this insert to house camera kit – it fits snugly into a rear compartment.
Designed to handle the rigours of challenging conditions, the PhotoSport X doesn’t really look like a photo backpack at all. Spin it around, though, and there’s zippered access to the compartment that snugly houses a GearUp Pro insert, which can accommodate a medium-size mirrorless or DSLR, a fast 70-200mm telephoto plus the other trinity lenses.
As you’d expect from Lowepro, the build quality is excellent, with considered design touches including a pair of tripod-shaped inside pockets, in addition to small zipped pockets on the inside and outside.
Wide, padded shoulder straps make PhotoSport X comfortable when worn on your back, with a sizeable waist strap on call, too.
Light but strong
Unloaded, the PhotoSport X is light in the hand, but a sturdy interior frame gives the bag structure when it is filled with camera gear, adventure accessories and provisions. A zipped pocket on the bottom right of the bag offers easy access storage and is an ideal place for storing the rain cover.
