Any wildlife or nature documentary about plants, such as the BBC’s Green Planet, invariably features a time-lapse sequence of a plant growing, flowering or even decaying. These can be complicated setups, with automatic watering systems, growing lights, filming lights, intervalometers and geared tripod heads to track the plant’s movement.
