PRO SHOTShort-eared owl
Autofocus is so refined that even inexperienced nature photographers can successfully tackle birds in flight with the right set-up. Add super-fast burst shooting and you get an ample selection of wing positions to choose from. For this shot, a Canon EOS R5 Mark II set to shoot at 30fps with an RF 200-800mm zoom was used. The duo was mounted on a tripod with a gimbal head to help track the short-eared owl as it crossed the field hunting for food.
