Pixel shift shooting
Going large isn’t just something you find at fast food joints, says Wendy Evans

One of the fancy tricks of mirrorless cameras is to move the CMOS chip around by a small amount, taking numerous photos that can then be combined into one, huge image. The example used here is the Nikon Z 8, but many mirrorless cameras support this process, which typically offers an image with up to four times the resolution, with lower noise and better colour than from a normal, single image.
