Mood and atmosphere can come in many forms but the classic moody sky and contrast in the scene create M the archetypal moody look, which is commonly seen in landscapes and cityscapes in particular. Some photographers choose to underexpose at the point of capture to maximise moodiness, but ‘correct’ exposure allows you to capture more shadow detail with the ability to darken and enhance shots during editing.
