DJI’s first action cam, the Osmo Action, which was announced in May 2019, has a similar design to the GoPro Hero10 Black with front and rear screens plus a relatively bulky lens.
For its latest model, the Osmo part has been dropped from the name, now becoming simply the Action 2. DJI also seems to have been inspired by the GoPro Hero Session series. It’s a small, square camera with the lens occupying most of the front and a touchscreen occupying the majority of the back. Instead of a GoPro-style mount, however, DJI has introduced a clever magnetic connection system that allows the camera to be mounted on a wide range of accessories, even those with the GoPro mount.
