Plating perfection
Take the time to place the elements within your food photos for maximum impact
Plating and positioning the elements of food within your frame in an attractive way compositionally is half the battle when it comes to food photography. The food genre generally grants you the luxury of time to compose your shot, as you’re taking a single, considered image, rather than trying to capture a fast burst of images. You can use a tripod to lock off your framing while you fine-tune the elements within your scene and get them exactly how you want them. Most of these tips can be applied to still life photos too.
