Mastering mist
Head out at dawn and make use of water vapour to add atmosphere
One of the easiest ways to create a feeling of mystery is to capture scenes that contain a fine layer of mist – the difficult part is getting your timing right. During the night, the air cools, causing moisture to condense into droplets, which is why you tend to see mist in the morning. You’ll need to set your alarm for pre-sunrise, making sure that you arrive on location before the warmth of any early morning sun cuts through the fine vapours.
