Pity Party
Daisy Buchanan
At 30 years old, perfectionist Katherine finds herself suddenly widowed. After the unexpected loss of her husband, understandably she is flailing. So much so that her best friend and former mother-in-law send her away to a healing wellness retreat, where activities include primal scream therapy and erotic meditation. Grief might not seem like obvious territory for a romantic comedy, but rest assured, Pity Party is frequently hilarious and always heartfelt. There’s also a delightful, beautifully executed queer twist in this deeply moving and highly addictive novel.
