FICTION WE ARE YOUNG
Cat Clarke
Cat Clarke has been carving out quite the niche in darkly compelling young adult’s fiction, and her seventh novel is no different, diving headfirst into the damaging misconceptions the media like to spin about adolescence. Mental health has become an increasingly popular subject for YA authors to tackle, but it is rarely handled with the sensitivity and unflinching honesty displayed here. We Are Young is by no means a light read, or even an easy one at times, but it is tautly written and essential reading for anyone who is – or has ever been – a teenager.
