Jane Tranter received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of South Wales on 11 January.
Frank Skinner and Cleo Sylvestre were both awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List, while David Harewood received an OBE.
TELEVISION
Russell T Davies is both writer and executive producer of ITVX’s three-part drama Nolly, which begins streaming on 2 February. Mark Gatiss, Con O’Neill and Tim Wallers are among the cast, with Peter Hoar as director and Blair Mowat as composer.
Following a US theatrical release, the new remake of the 1990 comedy House Party is currently available to stream. Tosin Cole leads the cast as Damon. He can also be seen in cinemas in Till, playing civil rights activist Medgar Evers.

Bradley Walsh and his son Barney’s epic road trip in Latin America can been seen in the fifth series of ITV’s Breaking Dad, which began on 7 January.
Peter Purves is mooted to play Paul in an in-development care-home drama series, Henry House. The series is currently being crowdfunded on Patreon, with plans to film the pilot later this year.
Jason Watkins leads the cast of Channel 5’s The Catch, based on TM Logan’s novel of the same name. He’s joined by Aneurin Barnard and Tracy Wiles. The series started on 25 January and is available on catch-up. The first half of the fourth series of You begins on Netflix on 9 February, to be followed by the second half on 9 March. Charlotte Ritchie returns, joined by Sean Pertwee and Adam James.
