The
game’s
art
style
is
based
on
concepts
and
design
work
from
2000AD
artist
Mick
McMahon.
While
Tittel
is
excited
by
the
immersivity
of
VR,
he
says
it
would
have
been
“completely
stupid”
not
to
bring
it
to
other
formats.
“The
flat
versions
do
things
the
VR
versions
don’t
do
and
vice
versa,”
he
says.
“It’s
absolutely
gorgeous
on
Switch,
and
I
adore
playing
it
on
there.”
The
mirror
is
key
to
making
players
empathise
with
Kurt,
Bousfield
suggests.
“When
you’re
chatting
to
another
character
you
can
catch
a
glimpse
of
yourself,
so
you’ve
got
that
constant
sense
of
presence.”
Originally,
the
pod
had
tank
controls,
Bousfield
explains,
and
Kurt
was
controlled
separately.
“It
was
quite
the
cognitive
load
to
navigate,”
he
says.
Thankfully
it’s
much
more
straightforward
now.
Tittel:
“There
are
moral
choices
involved
in
the
game,
but
I’m
not
going
to
go
all
Peter
Molyneux
and
promise
the
world,
[or
say]
you
can
shave
your
beard
off
or
anything
like
that”
