Miracle In Milan
Standout sequences from the great movies
Chosen by ARMANDO IANNUCCI
ARMANDO IANNUCCI: “I’m going to go with a film I’ve grown to really love, Miracle In Milan by Vittorio De Sica. I’d watched Bicycle Thieves and really loved it, and thought, ‘I must watch a few more of this guy’s films.’ It’s really funny, but visually really interesting. There’s an orphan who’s grown up and he befriends this guy and they stay in this little shack on this waste ground. And it’s a cold winter. Someone says, ‘Look! The sunshine!’ And there’s a shaft of sunshine and everyone piles into the shaft of sunlight. I love it. I recommend it to anyone. Anyone who watches this film will be absolutely uplifted by it.”
