WITH Oban Live just over a week away, Peatbog Faeries have been added to the line-up. The six-piece group, who merge traditional music with ‘dance floor groves’, will take to the stage on the Saturday night.
Oban Live said: ‘Delighted to announce the legendary Peatbog Faeries will be joining us this year. They need no introduction, before adding: ‘It will be jumping.’ The band is made up of Peter Morrison on pipes and whistles, Ross Couper, who plays fiddle; guitarist Tom Salter; Graeme Stafford, who plays keyboard; bass player Innes Hutton; and Stuart Haikney on drums. Posting on social media, Peatbog Faeries said: ‘We’re delighted to announce that we are a late addition to this year’s Oban Live. We do love a west coast gig. See you all there.’
The faeries join other bands such as Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Sharron Shannon, the Chunks, Sons of Argyll as well as Blazing Fddles and this year’s Oban Unsigned act Kathleen Robertson. Oban Live takes place on Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, at Mossfield Stadium.
