AS PART of Lochaber Environmental Group’s Go Grow and Glow project, the group intends to encourage as many Lochaber residents as possible to grow as much food as they can.
By assisting ordinary people to hold small gatherings or ‘garden parties’ in their own homes, LEG aims to remove the barriers people typically encounter when dreaming of growing their own food gets filed in the ‘list of good intentions’ that never materialise.
Stephen McDonach, environmental development officer with LEG, said: ‘By simply having some friends or family round to enjoy the experience of growing, we can learn together and share how easy it can be to grow our own produce. Growing vegetables doesn’t have to be complicated and it’s a great way to gain an instant support network to help you grow.
