INTERVIEW RIN HAMBURGH PHOTOGRAPH JEREMY SUTTON HIBBERT
Four years ago, I was in a state of constant overwhelm. My husband and I launched our business, Kids Bee Happy, in 2011, and it took off quickly. We had so many opportunities thrown at us within the first couple of years – corporate customers, franchising, someone who wanted us to work with dementia patients – that we couldn’t deal with it all. We also had young children at the time and we were living in a house with no heating. Work was stressful, home was stressful – I remember us standing in our kitchen shouting at each other, ‘I’m not stressed, you’re stressed!’ But it didn’t click that we were both really stressed.
Then, in 2015, we decided to move from our home near Glasgow to a very small town called Stranraer. It happened for several reasons: my daughter was being bullied at school, we needed bigger premises for our materials and also my husband’s stepfather was ill, so we wanted to be closer to him.
