SPADA CURVE EVO SUIT

TESTED BY: Farmer Brod

MILES: 500

TIME: 3 rounds of racing

PRICE: £469.99

WEB: www.spadaclothing.co.uk

Having crashed plenty, I’ve got pretty accustom to rating different one piece suits. That said, one brand that had escaped my abusive ways up until this season was Spada. I’ve seen more and more people wearing the stuff in the paddock, and given that their race-spec suit comes it at half the price of the stuff I’ve been forking out for, I figured I’d give it a go. The first thing that impressed me was the fit. I ordered a size 40, which suited me a treat from the off, with no real need to bed it in. Even with my back protector fitted (the stock suit comes with foam), I could move in it freely and felt immediately at home when riding my bike.

The suit comes kitted with removable CE approved elbow, shoulder and knee armour, which I also found sits nicely in place. The neoprene race collar stood out as another nice feature. Being generous in its cut, it doesn’t try to choke you when you get tucked in behind your screen. The same generosity has been given to the arms and wrists of the suit, which has meant fth first time in a long time, I’m that doesn’t make me feel wrapped 20 layers of cling filimbs. Arm pump is a thing o which means I’ve got to find excuse for when I’m off the Despite not having the su I’ve already given it a good t out. I got caught out by a backmarker at Cadwell Park, who moved over on me arou Coppice and ejected me from my bike at over 100mph. It w a sketchy moment, but the su just took the crash on the chi and I was able to go out and second in my next race. Just t a bit more excitement into my brakes completely failed the n end of Park Straight. I jumped 130mph and slid 100m into the It was a huge crash that des Triumph, but I was able to borr podium again that afternoon w same (slightly soiled) suit. I’ll ad been drawn in by the hype that the suit, the better it is, but thes have got me thinking very differ They’re tough as anything and I in them than I have in any of my recent suits. Spada, I can honest you saved my ass. Literally.
