Commando Helicopter Force HQ Strengthens Team Spirit at Summer Cohesion Event
The Commando Helicopter Force (CHF) HQ recently brought together its entire team, including all supporting sub-units, for a dedicated team cohesion event. The aim was to give personnel the rare opportunity to meet in person, connect and strengthen the bonds that are essential to their work. Many team members are physically dispersed across RNAS Yeovilton and are frequently deployed, meaning that day-to-day interaction is limited.
Standard meetings and training sessions rarely provide the chance for personal connection, leaving some personnel feeling isolated from the wider HQ and their colleagues. The summer barbecue and afternoon stand-down provided a relaxed, informal setting where colleagues could meet face-to-face, build relationships, and feel part of the broader community. For some, it was the first opportunity to meet others they work with closely, sharing experiences and insights beyond emails or video calls.
These moments go beyond a social gathering. They reinforce team cohesion, support wellbeing and foster a sense of belonging all crucial for operational success and retention. By encouraging stronger personal connections, CHF HQ strengthened the culture of trust, collaboration and community that underpins its mission.
RNRMC is proud to support initiatives that help personnel feel connected, valued and ready to perform at their best. If you would like to fund a team cohesion event for your unit or organisation, visit our grants page to find out how.
Supporting Morale Across the Royal Navy and Royal Marines
In 2025 so far, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has proudly supported 145 morale-boosting events for serving personnel and their families. With £158,721.18 in grants awarded, these activities have reached 18,944 serving personnel across the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Submariners, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Maritime Reserves and Fleet Air Arm, as well as thousands of dependants. These morale days provide vital opportunities for serving personnel and their loved ones to connect, relax and strengthen bonds both at sea and ashore. From sports and adventure activities to family gatherings and team-building days, every event brings people together, offering space to recharge and reset during demanding times of service.
