Here is NASA’s Curiosity rover atop the Vera Rubin ridge, snapping a selfie and capturing the barren landscape of the Red Planet. Directly behind Curiosity’s mast is the 3.4-mile-high Mount Sharp, which the rover has now reached. Curiosity landed on Mars back in 2012 and has since been surveying the surface in hope of finding signs of life. The rover is currently on a drill campaign around Gale crater to collect rock samples for analysis.
