FlyPast Magazine July 2015 Edizione posteriore

English
207 Recensioni   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
Only €5,99
The new issue of FlyPast is available in UK shops now! Our cover star is UK-based North American P-51D Mustang ‘Jumpin’ Jacques’, a fighter that originally flew in the hands of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen in World War Two. In an exclusive interview, Steve Beebee speaks to owner Peter Teichman about this immaculate machine, and gets the latest news on the other warbirds in his Hangar 11 Collection fleet at North Weald airfield.

DORNIER SPOTLIGHT
Our in-depth Spotlight section focuses on a World War Two Luftwaffe bomber, the twin-engined Dornier Do 17. Featuring exclusive artwork, we look back on the history of the so-called ‘pencil bomber’, and reflect on its various roles in wartime.

BRISTOL BLENHEIM SHOT DOWN
On his debut ‘op’ Alfie Fripp failed to return and began six years as a PoW. Sean Feast recounts how his luck ran out.

GREAT WAR FIGHTER REBORN
Andrew Carter describes the recreation of an airworthy Fokker E.III Eindecker in Australia.

BLACKBIRD FLIGHT
Warren E Thompson interviews Bob Gilliland, the man who made the first ever flight in Lockheed’s awesome SR-71 Blackbird.

GLORY DAYS
Rarely seen images of the Avro Shackleton prototypes.

We also visit spectacular airshows both in the UK and in the States, including Planes of Fame in California, and bring you the news that most Vulcan fans have been expecting but quietly dreading – that XH558 will be grounded at the end of the year. We join Ken Ellis on a tour of aviation sites in Pembrokeshire, Frank B Mormillo goes air-to-air in the US with a Messerschmitt Bf 108, and we point the camera at some recent aircraft movements at Duxford as staff prepare for a major revamp of the site’s American Air Museum.

Digital subscription for Flypast magazine

I have purchased the Flypast magazine for many years and generally as a hard copy. However, for the last couple of years l have subscribed annually to the digital version and now read on my iPad.
The magazine is great and I always find the content interesting and varied and never bored with the topics covered. Whilst previously enjoying the hard copy l am now a devoted digital subscriber and would recommend this version. On the downside you miss out on add ons such as calendars etc.
