Ruby Raut, menstrual lifestyle expert at pioneering reusable period product brand, WUKA (wuka.co.uk), says: “With an ever-growing awareness of the multiple benefits of embracing a plant-based diet, veganism is increasingly popular, but many women are unaware of the impact that a change in diet can have on menstrual health.”
So, if you are considering switching to veganism, it’s important to be informed. “Our hormones, and subsequently our cycle, can be affected by a range of different foods,” says Raut. “As such, almost any change to diet could throw our hormones off balance and contribute to an irregular cycle.
