HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN A RUNNER?
I’ve always done a bit of running, but it has only become my main focus in the last few years. Growing up I loved athletics and cross-country, but equally enjoyed other sports. At university I took up rowing and accidentally became quite good. After a couple of years I was training in a high performance squad with full-time athletes. I enjoyed the training and the lifestyle, but it wasn’t sustainable for me whilst trying to complete my medical degree. After I quit rowing I ran more, as it was a flexible activity I could fit around my studies and work as a junior doctor.
