Mike McMeeken looks for a way through the Giants defence
THE NEW season may only be a fortnight old, but there are already plenty of lessons that we have learned.
Take Catalans Dragons, for example. The old adage about Les Dracs was that they would never be a realistic contender to win Super League until they finally found a way to win games in England on a regular basis.
The pandemic has basically given them more chances to try and discover that winning habit across the Channel - and while the nature of their backto-back wins to start the season have not been perfect, that is essentially the biggest point of encouragement.
Even just a few seasons ago, you felt Catalans wouldn’t have found a way to win in extra-time last week against Hull KR, when all the momentum was with their opponents after that magnificent comeback.
