LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
DONCASTER coach Richard Horne has called on his players to be mindful of hot weather.
It's been an unusual spell in the UK, with temperatures rising.
For a Rugby League player especially, such conditions can be energy sapping, but Horne believes water-loading can help players’ focus.
"I think it’s just about how the boys maintain themselves and it starts from the beginning of the week, not just a few days beforehand - we keep speaking about it," said Horne.
"A few of the boys look like they have been enjoying the sun a bit too much and it can find you and sap you a little bit without realising.
"It’s about being smart, taking on water for days before a game and not just the eve of a game, so it gives you a better chance to perform."
Although the Dons are near the top of the table, Horne isn’t satisfied yet.
