LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
HUNSLET coach Alan Kilshaw says there was no need for his club to do any business ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
While others added to their ranks for the final few weeks of the season, Hunslet made a conscious decision to work with what they already have, having got themselves into a strong position ahead of the play-offs.
"We have resisted the opportunity to bring in anyone before the deadline as we have a settled group and have been picking a consistent side each week, which shows how connected the group is," explained Kilshaw.
"We will have to have some rotation at some point, as players on the fringes need to be match-conditioned going into the play offs.
"Nathan Newbound and Sean Croston (both at Cornwall) and now Nathan Conroy at Swinton are out on loan, getting valuable experience.
"I think it illustrates the strength in the group, with three quality players out on loan and a number pushing for spots in the 17."
