CHAMPIONS! That’s Dewsbury who, after the previous week’s defeat at Hunslet, clinched the title and promotion with an ultimately comfortable victory over a Workington side who are seeking as high a placing as possible in the forthcoming promotion play-offs.
The winning margin, though, had looked anything but likely at the break, when the sides were locked at 8-8. Town could, indeed, have led 10-8 at that stage if Ciaran Walker’s late penalty-goal shot had not drifted wide.
