ST HELENS have confirmed that Daryl Clark will become only the third player to wear the club's number nine in the Super League era.
The off-season signing from Warrington follows in the footsteps of Keiron Cunningham (1996-2010) and James Roby (2011-2023).
No other top squad number at any Super League club has had so few occupants, although it is unlikely that Clark, who inherits the shirt at the age of 30 with a three-year contract, will retain the shirt for a similar length of time as his predecessors.
