The verdict
Distros for Windows users
It’s testament to how far Linux distros have come that there’s now an abundance of distros that we can happily recommend for Windows users. In fact, the main problem is trying to cut the list down to a manageable number. There’s no doubt that Ubuntu remains a key starter distro, if for no other reason than there’s top-notch support. However, this in itself can be an issue, as many solutions pertain to older releases, and recent updates to Wayland can be confusing, even for experienced users. That’s more of a nitpick, and the Askubuntu.com site does at least make it clear how old answers are, although new users might not be aware of issues between different releases.
