Music can help you focus, unwind, or start a party, so headphones and speakers are travelling essentials!
Although you could take a copy of
MacFormat
on your travels (and/or subscribe to Apple News+), you may want to give your eyes a rest and relax with your favourite music and podcasts. Depending on where you are, you might want to keep the audio to yourself or share it with others; either way you’ve got plenty of options.
For the greatest portability, invest in high-quality earbuds. These can be slipped into a pocket or bag when you’re not using them and, because they’re relatively discreet, you won’t draw attention with them in their ears. The same can’t be said for bulky over-ear headphones which can also make your ears warm and sweaty – something to consider if you’re going somewhere hot. Of the two, headphones tend to offer superior, large-scale sound quality due to their bigger drivers, although earbuds have improved greatly over the years. Headphones are also generally better at isolating environmental noise, though, again, many earbuds do a wonderful job.
