Tech Is Everywhere; Why Are Hospitals So Behind?
I’M BACK. I was diagnosed with lymphoma in December, and had to take time off while undergoing chemotherapy. Things are looking up now, but I spent a lot of time in hospitals over the last few months, and it left me wondering why the medical industry is so far behind with its computing.

I was transferred to a cancer unit at a different hospital halfway through my treatment. The new location was much more modern than the previous hospital, with all manner of high-tech, squeaky clean medical equipment. Even my IV drip had a touchscreen display. Nurses used modern (if budget) tablets to input patient details. One specialist administering my antibody injections told me with mild excitement that their department had recently upgraded all of its tech hardware.
