Perturbator and Cult Of Luna visionaries team up for a multidimensional voyage
IN 2019, THE Roadburn festival reached out to Perturbator’s James Kent to commission a collaboration with any musician of his choosing. Kent – avisionary in the burgeoning synthwave scene – invited Cult Of Luna vocalist/ guitarist Johannes Persson, who readily agreed. Two years later (thanks, Covid), the project finally debuted at this year’s festival. Though initially conceived as a live piece, the pair realised that they had tapped into something both primal and enduring, and so they formalised their partnership as Final Light, commemorating their collaboration as an eponymous, one-time release.
