CONJURER
Screamer/guitarist Dani Nightingale offered solace in a world that’s slow to accept difference
WORDS: PAUL TRAVERS
CONJURER: PRESS/MATTHIEU GILL
For Dani Nightingale, co-screamer and guitarist with Warwickshire riff-monsters Conjurer, this year’s Unself was both a deeply personal and an outward-facing album. Informed by their autism diagnosis at the age of 31, along with a realisation that they were non-binary, it examined their new place in the world with an often bitter and rightly cynical eye.
