Rather than being a literal story about Jesus bearing a Glock, My God Has Got A Gun – the fourth album from Scottish pop-metallers Vukovi – was a cathartic outburst of frazzled synths and blood-curdling screams, with the figure of God representing vocalist Janine Shilstone’s OCD.
“It’s the journaling of a terrified OCD state of mind,” Janine explains of the record. “OCD sometimes feels like a god, this invisible force that’s always watching and punishing me, trying to control how I live my life.”
